Foothills Academy Straw-bale Campus
Scottsdale, Arizona - 2002 (as env. arch. consultant to Weddle+Gilmore Architects)
A collaborative design effort with WeddleGilmore Architects on the creation of an 18,000 s.f. campus for a charter elementary-high school program. The structure is comprised of straw-bale and steel construction, and utilizes high-performance glazing. Additional sustainable design elements include: daylighting, natural ventilation, rainwater collection and native landscaping, as well as extensive site preservation construction strategies.
