Harvard House Straw-bale Spec Home (project)

Phoenix, Arizona - 2001

The first code-permitted load-bearing straw-bale residential building in the City of Phoenix. This moderate-income house is intended to be built for and sold on the "spec" home market in central Phoenix. The design will also employ graywater and rainwater collection, daylighting, photovoltaic system, cotton insulation, and very efficient mechanical systems.
