Lay Straw-bale Residence (project)

New River, Arizona - 1998

This straw-bale residence was designed in conjunction with a Feng Shui consultant on a pristine Sonoran desert site. The masterplan includes a house, carport, studio. Furthermore, the design includes a vegetable garden/ firepit woven into existing vegetation with little disturbance to the site.The roof structure provides a rich architectural and climatic response while maintaining the simplicity of construction.
