Hillside House (project)

Cave Creek, Arizona - 1997

This energy-efficient design integrates straw-bales to accomodate an extreme west-facing slope. The design provides excellent views to the north and south while maintaining modicum of east west views with fin-protected slot windows and a roof deck. Simple organization around three bent walls allows for a simple, economical construction on the steep site.
